Brief CV of Dr. Maoguo Gong |
||
|
Maoguo Gong is currently an Associate Professor with the 'Intelligent Information Processing Innovative Research Team' of the Ministry of Education of China at Xidian University, Xi'an, China. His research interests are broadly in the area of Computational Intelligence and Hybrid Intelligent Systems. The areas of special interests include artificial immune systems, evolutionary computation, data mining, optimization, network security and some other related areas. He has published about 50 papers in journals and conferences, and applied 10 patents of China. He currently takes charge one project granted by the National High Technology Research and Development Program (863 Program) of China, one project granted by the National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one project granted by the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of the Ministry of Education of China, and participates one project granted by the 863 Program and one project granted by the Key Project of Scientific and Technological Innovation (13115) Project of Shaanxi as co-principal investigator. He has participated more than 5 projects, granted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the 863 Program, and the National Basic Research Program (973 Program) of China, etc. He is a member of IEEE, member of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, member of IEEE CIS Xi'an chapter, member of IEEE CIS Emergent Technology Technical Committee on Memetic Computing, executive committee member of the Natural Computation Society of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, Editorial Board member of the Journal of Information Technology Research, The Open Artificial Intelligence Journal, and Journal of Advanced Research in Evolutionary Algorithms, reviewer for over five journals including IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics-Part B and European Journal of Operational Research. He was the chairs of the 'Artificial Immune Systems' session and 'Evolutionary Data Mining' session at 2007 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation, the chair of the 'Advanced Evolutionary Computation Theory and Methods' session at 2007 International Conference on Life System Modeling and Simulation, and organizing committee member of The 2nd International Conference on Natural Computation and The 3rd International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery. He has won the New Century Excellent Talent in University of the Ministry of Education of China, Excellent Yong Contributor of Shaanxi Province, Scopus Young Scientist Award in Sustainable Development of China, Science & Technology Award of Shaanxi Province (First Level), National '3-100' Original Books Award, National Scholarship of China, National Award of Intel Cup Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest-Embedded System Design Invitational Contest, Honorable Mention Award of Mathematical Contest in Modeling of USA, etc. He is one of the National Top Thirty Students in Universities and Top Ten Academic Graduates of Xidian University. |
